BEECHER, Ill. - At the beginning of the 2007 IHRA - Knoll Gas Nitro Jam drag racing season the defending Torco Nitro Funny Car champion made a pledge to the Wish Upon A Star charity. Dale Creasy, Jr., driver of the Torco Race Fuels Impala SS pledge $100 for each round win the team earned during the 2007 campaign. After 23 round wins and another championship, Creasy will make good on what turned into a $2,300 pledge this weekend when he attends one of the Joliet, Ill. charity's major fun raisers. Wish Upon A Star grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses.
"Dale has been supporting Wish Upon A Star for eight years," said Don West, Executive Director. "Dale is always willing to give his time and energy to help out with our fund raising events. We cheered hard for him this year knowing that each round win would help another child."
"We're very happy to make this donation," Creasy said. "We never really expected to win 23 rounds this past year. The 2007 season was good to us and this is a great cause, so were happy to help in any way that we can."
"If you look at what Evan Knoll does with Torco Race Fuels and all of the charities that he supports, it makes a lot of sense for Creasy Family Motorsports to follow his lead," Creasy continued. "I hope this donation will help the children that Wish Upon A Star works with."
One of the main fund raisers for Wish Upon A Star is the "Softball in the Snow" event. The event will be held this weekend January 12th. For more information contact Don West, Executive Director of Wish Upon A Star at 815-744-9175.
